You'll Never Believe These Celebs' College Majors

Get ready to meet the brains and beauties of Hollywood!

Being a student is hard enough, but could you imagine having to film, do press and perform onstage on top of doing homework?! Well, some celebrities didn't let the stress get to them - not only did they manage to be the super talented actors/actresses that we know of today, but...they were actually super successful with their academia too. That's right - famous and smart. Take a look below and be awed at some pretty big names and what they were studying while they were in college.

Rachel McAdams

Today - Season 63

You really can be anything you want to be, at least that's what Rachel's college story inspires us to think. This not so mean girl didn't think that she could actually be an actress or even study theatre. Thank goodness a high school teacher convinced Rachel to not give up on her dreams. Graduating with honors in 2001 with a BFA in theatre from York University, Rachel quickly became a big deal in Hollywood.

Dillard University 2015 Commencement Ceremony

What was Denzel known for before lighting up a big screen? Well, apparently he was pretty good at shooting hoops while playing for Fordham University. Being an awesome guard didn't keep him from his passion, though. While he did graduate with a degree in Drama and Journalism, he wasn't the ideal student with a solid GPA of 1.7. #Ouch

Natalie Portman

Dominique Charriau

She's beautiful, she's a super talented actress, she can rap...oh, and she's a brainiac...no big deal. Natalie graduated with an A.B degree in psychology from Harvard University, she's also co-authored two published research papers and is quoted saying "I don't care if [college] ruins my career. I'd rather be smart than a movie star." #snaps

Ken Jeong

ABC'

He might play a doctor on ABC's new comedy series "Dr. Ken" but this "Hangover" star is an actual doctor IRL! Ken attended Duke University for his undergraduate career and received his M.D degree from the University of North Carolina. "Most doctors have golf as a hobby," Dr. Jeong said during an interview with NPR, "mine was doing comedy".

Mindy Kaling

Premiere Of Hulu'

While Mindy's mother was an OBGYN IRL, Mindy chose another path: playwriting. While studying at Dartmouth University, Mindy joined an improvisational comedy group, "The Dog Day Players", and the a cappella group "The Rockapellas". She also interned as a sophomore in college with the "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" show labeling herself as the "worst intern ever".

Dylan and Cole Sprouse

What a sweet life indeed! These Disney Channel twins have just recently graduated from New York University. Dylan had a concentration in video game design, and Cole majored in archaeology. While Cole isn't all that concerned for returning to the screen, Dylan has hopes of dabbling in video game design and acting (there's stil hope!).

Connie Britton

NBC

Connie Britton on Late Night with Seth Meyers

Much like Mindy Kaling, Connie also attended Dartmouth but, get this, she majored in Asian Studies and even studied abroad in China for a summer. In an interview with NPR, Connie said: "I always wanted to be an actor. But when I went to college, I had to fulfill a language requirement and so I thought it would be really cool to do it speaking Chinese." Can you say overachiever?

Emma Watson

Living up to her character, Hermione, in the "Harry Potter" series, Emma Watson is no stranger to doing exceptionally well in school. Emma attended Brown University with a concentration in English Literature and completed her degree in 2014. Shortly after, she was appointed as a UN Women Goodwill Ambassador.

University of Pennsylvania'

While John may be known for his soothing voice and smooth tunes, not too many people know that he's also pretty brilliant. Having had acceptances from Harvard University and Georgetown University, John choose the University of Pennsylvania, which is where he was introduced to Lauryn Hill who ended up hiring him to play the piano on her hit song, "Everything Is Everything".

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon - Season 5

What was John doing before working as a sales representative in "The Office"? Oh, he was an English teacher in Costa Rica. Soon after spending some time abroad, John enrolled in Brown University and while he thought of joining the basketball team (at 6'3", who can blame him?) he ended up joining "Out of Bounds", a sketch comedy group.

Before cracking down on the war on drugs as Agent Hank Schrader, Dean was a pretty badass student. He graduated in 1981 from Clay High School as a straight A student and valedictorian. He then went off to Harvard University and graduated with a degree in Social Studies but, as Dean himself said in an interview with New York Magazine: "[acting] is a learned craft, not some special mojo or magic dust or staring at some piece of shit for an hour to get in the mood". So, he enrolled in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art for one year and voila - Dean became the toughest cop we know and love on the big and little screen.

Celebrity Sightings In New York City - September 22, 2015

With the Jon Hamm as an acting teacher in high school (yes, the Jon Hamm), Ellie was already destined for a successful path into acting. She attended Princeton University where she joined improv groups and even dabbled in field hockey which she has admitted to having been benched "roughly 97 percent" of the time. Ellie graduated with a degree in English from Princeton and attended Oxford University for one year.

Before her days as a reality television star, Kourtney Kardashian was a college student attending the University of Arizona. She graduated in 2002 with a degree in Theatre Arts and a minor in Spanish but it wasn't so easy...Kourtney admitted to failing two classes in college because she was "too nervous to give speeches."

Troian Bellisario

amfAR Inspiration Los Angeles 2014 - After Party

Much like her character on the ABC family series "Pretty Little Liar", Troian was quite the model student growing up. Troian graduated as the valedictorian of her high school class and went on to attend the University of Southern California. Troian admits that she probably should have "relaxed a bit" while in school - does that sound like Spencer or what?

Save The Children Foundation Celebrates Comic Genius: Portraits Of Funny People

Some of you may recognize Bianca as the face that never ages, but she is so much more than that. Bianca, somehow, managed to find time to attend high school and college, graduating from the University of Southern California with concentrations in film and psychology.
