'Teen Mom 2''s Corey And Miranda Respond To Ali's Backpack Claims

Find out why the six-year-old's stepmother calls the situation 'heartbreaking'

Leah chronicled a difficult claim made by her daughter, Ali, during last night's Teen Mom 2 episode -- specifically, the six-year old asserted during a videotaped conversation with Leah's cousin that Corey's wife, Miranda, would not help her carry her backpack. Now, Corey and Miranda are responding to the troubling statements made in the clip and telling their side of the story.

"I always try to carry Ali's backpack for her," Miranda disclosed to MTV News, while adding that learning about this was "heartbreaking." "I would never try to do any harm to the children or create any kind of task that I know Ali cannot do.

"I'm not saying how she felt was wrong -- her feelings are important. I just hope that we can move on, and I hope that the girls feel comfortable no matter where they are at one time."

Corey -- who was awarded the roles of primary caretaker and primary legal custodian of the twins earlier this season -- supported his wife through this ordeal and insisted that his spouse knows what is in Ali's best interest.

"Miranda has been around the girls since they were two years old," the father of three stated. "Miranda is aware of what Ali is capable of and what she's not capable of doing. If Miranda would have felt that the backpack was too heavy, she would not have made her carry the backpack."

Corey and Miranda also addressed another issue: In the clip, Ali claimed that the couple's newborn daughter, Remi, receives all of the attention. But the two stress they never knew the little girl felt this way.

"After Remi was born, I've never seen any type of jealousy that the girls had toward Remi or any kind of feeling that they felt left out," Miranda explained. "Yes, it would be a big change for two six-year-olds to have a new baby in their lives when they're used to just being the kids in the house."

As for Leah, Miranda understands where she was coming from as a parent and wishes that she had approached her about the situation.

"I think we're at a better place now," Miranda adds.
