11 Times The 1975’s Video Will Have You Saying ‘UGH!’
If The 1975 tickets sold out faster than you could say "Chocolate," don’t completely fret. On Friday (Dec. 18), the band released a music video for their latest single "UGH!" that features a glimpse into their live show and some serious gazes from frontman Matthew Healy.
While the very soft neon color theme from the "Love Me" video continues, Healy’s wardrobe coupled with those cheeky dance moves is sort of similar to another video (cough, “Hotline Bling”).
The Manchester foursome aren’t making these titles easy either—the album name I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it is a mouthful, and trying to tell someone that you’re favorite song is "UGH!" can be a little awkward. But the funktastic track, along with “Love Me,” is just another example of how The 1975 is shaking it up, now that they're no longer confined by their “indie rock” status.
While you queue up the video, here are 11 moments that will have you saying, “UGH!”:
The beauty that is their colorful, cinematic stage
George looking like a dapper ‘50s icon while drumming
The part when Matty gazes into your soul while trotting around without a shirt
Matty pulling his best Mick Jagger face in blue
That part when the boys take their places in front of those pillars
When Matty wears the most perfect striped sweater ever and lists things
The “And you’re the only thing that’s going on in my mind” line coupled with that gaze
Matty’s “Hotline Bling” moment
The pouty face dance bit
That moment when Matty licks the microphone and you have to check your pulse
When Matty closes out the video dancing in the most magnificent sweater
