Winning An EMA For Jake Miller Is Pretty Much ‘The Coolest Thing Ever’

Jake could take home his very first award on Sunday, Nov. 9 at the EMA!

It's been a busy week for Jake Miller, and it's about to get even crazier.

The up-and-coming singer just released his brand new EP Lion Heart, and now he's getting on the "First Flight Home" back to his hometown of Miami not only to perform, but co-host the 2014 MTV EMA kick-off special, along with Nick Cannon and Marly Tarlov, going down live on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET/PT.

"I'm so excited, it's in my hometown," Jake told MTV News before revealing whether or not he's been practicing his co-hosting skills. "A little bit, but I should probably practice a little bit more."

Jake, we know you'll do great, and if you get stumped with a question, remember this: you can always ask Fifth Harmony what it's like to go head-to-head in the EMA Artist To Rise category. They're both vying for the award against 5SOS, Lucy Hale and Nick Jonas.

Of course Jake wants to go home with the coveted trophy, not just because it's fan voted, but also because it would be his very first.

"[It's] my first award show nomination," he said. "I mean I've never taken home anything I've never been nominated so that would just be the coolest thing ever, but whether I win or not it's just an honor to get the nomination."

Along with Jake, 5H and Nick will also be performing, while across the pond, Nicki Minaj will host the 2014 EMA from Glasgow, Scotland, as well as perform. Hopefully she won't sit on him, but just in case, he's practicing by doing push-ups.
