Watch J. Cole's 'Lights Please' Video, 5 Years After 'The Warm Up'

We opened the vaults.

Reporting by Sway Calloway

Before "Rap Fix Presents: J. Cole's The Warm Up - 5 Years Later," the Roc Nation MC hadn't seen his unreleased video for "Lights Please" in several years. On Sunday (June 15), Cole opened the vault and world-premiered that video for all of his fans to see.

"We been holding on to it for way too long," he told "RapFix" host Sway Calloway.

Cole estimates that he and his team filmed the BB Gun-directed video in August 2008. He originally intended for the video to exist within a trilogy. The original plan was for "Lights Please," "Lost Ones" and "Simba" to tell one linear story.

While Cole was confident in the song -- after all, it was that one that influenced Jay Z to sign him to Roc Nation -- he felt it best that the video remain under wraps... until now.
