The Sweet Relief Musicians Fund will host its Third Annual Holiday Party and Auction at Luna Park in Los Angeles on December 7, featuring musical performances from former Pixies frontman Flank Black as well as Sweet Relief founder Victoria Williams.

Moon Unit Zappa (the daughter of Frank and sister of Webriot host Ahmet) will emcee the charity concert and silent auction, and others expected to come out for the show include Lone Justice's Maria McKee, Wall of Voodoo's Stan Ridgway, and Michael Cerveris from the cast of the musical "Hedwig And The Angry Inch."

In addition to next month's benefit, Sweet Relief will also be holding an online auction of rock and roll memorabilia on eBay.com from November 30 until December 9. Artists such as Limp Bizkit, Marilyn Manson, the Smashing Pumpkins, Bush, Fatboy Slim, and Santana will have all contributed various items to the auction.

Sweet Relief was founded in 1993 by Victoria Williams after she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis as a way of helping provide financial aid to musicians (such as herself) who lack medical insurance to cover the cost of treatment. The non-profit organization also has a new financial assistance program for retired or semi-retired older musicians.

In 1993, a wide array of artists, including Pearl Jam, Lou Reed, and Matthew Sweet, banded together to release "Sweet Relief: A Benefit For Victoria Williams," an album that raised money for Williams' medical bills.

Three years later, another record, titled "Sweet Relief II:

Gravity Of The Situation" and featuring covers of Vic Chesnutt songs by R.E.M., Live, and the Smashing Pumpkins, was issued to benefit the Sweet Relief fund.
