J. Cole And Miguel Bring 'Power Trip' To BET Awards
With his sophomore album Born Sinner landing at #2 on the charts in its first week, and gaining ground on Kanye West's Yeezus, J. Cole was cool and confident during his performance at the BET Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night.
The Roc Nation rapper opened his performance with the TLC-featured "Crooked Smile," sitting on a stool while his album art flashed in the background. Up next was, of course, "Power Trip" which Miguel joined him for, after having completed his own set earlier in the night.
MTV News caught up with Cole on the BET red carpet before he took the stage, where he addressed his impressive first week sales. "That’s the people speaking. I’m happy, I’m grateful. I’m blessed. The second week numbers are fantastic too," Cole told MTV News.
Fans ate up every minute of the performance judging from their Twitter reactions.
