Katy Perry Threw Her ‘Roar’ Behind Hillary Clinton At The DNC

See ya, glass ceiling

Last night (July 28) at the Democratic National Convention, Katy Perry threw her voice behind the first female presidential candidate of a major political party.

Before her performance, the singer encouraged Americans to vote for Hillary Clinton this fall. “On November 8, you’ll be just as powerful as any NRA lobbyist,” Perry said. "You’ll have as much say as any billionaire."

Then she launched into her new Olympics single “Rise,” followed by her No. 1 hit from 2013, “Roar."

Perry belted both songs into a microphone covered in red, white, and blue rhinestones, which matched her glittery getup — and the shards of that glass ceiling that just shattered everywhere.
