'Band-Aids Don't Fix Bullet Holes' And 9 Other Crucial Life Lessons We Learned From The Pop Charts

Maroon 5, Fetty Wap and Jason DeRulo have some important information for you.

Summer's officially here. No more teachers, no more books, no more... you know the drill. You learned what you needed to learn (if only just barely), you shook it off at graduation and now it's time to unplug the brain, crank up the tunes and just chill.

Or is it? Just because it's summer vacation and there's no homework for at least three months doesn't mean you can't learn a little something while you're tying up your manbun and trying to figure out what that mysterious skywriting is all about.

Cuz here's the thing: Pop stars can, like, teach us things. Important life skills that will help us make it through the hot months without trying to patch up those bullet holes with Band-Aids.

Taylor's not the only one dropping knowledge, though. Here are the other lessons we learned from the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Wiz Khalifa, "See You Again"

"Had to switch up look at things different see the bigger picture/ Those were the days hard work forever pays now I see you in a better place."

Lesson: Hard work does pay off.

Taylor Swift, "Bad Blood"

"Band-aids don't fix bullet holes."

Lesson: Duck!

Fetty Wap, "Trap Queen"

"And I can ride with my baby/ I be in the kitchen cooking pies with my baby."

Lesson: The couple that (ahem) "cooks" together, stays together.

Walk The Moon, "Shut Up And Dance"

"A backless dress and some beat up sneaks/ My discotheque, Juliet teenage dream."

Lesson: It's not about what you wear or how you look, it's about, well, shutting up and dancing.

Jason DeRulo, "Want To Want Me"

"You open the door/ There ain't nothing but a smile drawn to the floor/ And you whisper in my ear, baby I'm yours."

Lesson: When in doubt, naked whispering works every time.

Mark Ronson, "Uptown Funk"

"Make a dragon wanna retire man."

Lesson: Even dragons have 401(k)s, apparently.

The Weeknd, "Earned It (Fifty Shades of Grey)"

"So I love when you call unexpected/ Cause I hate when the moment's expected."

Lesson: Surprises are sexy, duh!

David Guetta, "Hey Mama"

"My screams is the proof/ Them other dudes get the deuce."

Lesson: When Mama's happy, everyone's happy.

Andy Grammer, "Honey, I'm Good"

"I could have another but I probably should not/ I got somebody at home."

Lesson: True love is all about moderation.

Maroon 5, "Sugar"

"I want that red velvet/ I want that sugar sweet/ Don't let nobody touch it/ Unless that somebody's me."

Lesson: Sometimes a cake is not just a cake.
