Ice Cube Has Fun Making "Peace"

After waging "War" with the first volume of his "War & Peace" in 1998, seminal gangsta Ice Cube returns to record stores this week to make "Peace.

War & Peace Vol. 2 (The Peace Disc)," the latest solo salvo from Cube, comes after his recent reunion with his old N.W.A. pals and sees him teaming with Chris Rock, Krayzie Bone, Jayo Felony, Gangsta, Squeak Ru, Mack 10, Ms. Toi, and other notable guests on "Peace.

[article id="1445758"]"I had more fun with this album than I had in a long time,"[/article] Cube told MTV News this week. [article id="1445758"]"The 'War' disc was old songs that I had kind of accumulated over working, but this was all new songs. I got a song on there from N.W.A.; Dr. Dre produced that. Puff Daddy produced a song for me, so we're just kind of trying to step the level up in the game and show you how the West Coast vibes." [RealVideo][/article]

Cube's latest will face some stiff sales competition as "War & Peace Vol.

2 (The Peace Disc)" hit stores the same day as 'NSYNC's "No Strings Attached.

While trumpeting his solo album, Cube is also currently working on an N.W.A. reunion album with his old colleagues Dr. Dre and MC Ren as well as new recruit Snoop Dogg. The group recently staged its first live performance in more than ten years at a taping of the USA Network's "Jimmy And Doug's Farmclub.com" (see [article id="1432480"]"N.W.A. Reunites For TV Performance"[/article]) That episode will air next Monday, March 27 at 11:00 p.m. (ET)
