Korn Plan Headlining Tour To Follow Outing With Metallica
Rap-metal rockers Korn will launch a headlining tour in July after finishing the Summer Sanitarium tour with Metallica, Kid Rock, System of a Down and Powerman 5000.
Supported by Powerman 5000 and Papa Roach, the 19-city tour will begin July 18 in Fargo, N.D.
During their six-year career, Korn have developed a
sound built around bass player Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu's thuds, singer Jonathan Davis' growls and screams, and the occasional bagpipe. Korn have nurtured a rabid fanbase through appearances on such high-profile outings as Lollapalooza and the Family Values tour.
In April, nearly three dozen fans were treated for heat exhaustion and minor injuries sustained in the mosh pit at a Korn show in Greensboro, N.C.
Korn's fourth album, Issues, was released in November and features the hit "Falling Away From Me" (RealAudio excerpt).
