Rapper Guru Surrenders To Police

March 25 [18:00 EST] -- Keith Elam, better known as jazz rapper Guru, surrendered to police in Valley Stream, New York Tuesday morning, on felony charges of assault and criminal possession of a handgun.

Police say Guru left a Manhattan nightclub last Wednesday night with three women, one of whom claims he hit her with a beer bottle after an argument. She was treated for cuts and a concussion at a local hospital. Guru could face up to seven years in jail on each charge; he's due in court April 30.
