Iggy Azalea And Azealia Banks Quitting Twitter Means One Thing: We Can Focus On The Music

because that's what really matters.

Twitter is a great tool for celebrities to interact with fans.

But lately, it’s become an even bigger Avenue for trolling, slander and beefs.

That’s why Iggy Azalea quit Twitter last month.

““The Internet is the ugliest reflection of mankind there is,” she said.

Azealia Banks followed suit by announcing on Monday (Mar. 2) that she had quit the popular social media outlet, too, for a different reason: she's giving up Twitter for Lent.

“I missed the beginning of Lent but better late than never. I'm going off tweets until April 2nd!! My management will tweet AB news,” she tweeted.

Question is, though, what does this mean for their ongoing social media feud?

For the “Fancy” rapper, this also means she can take cover from some of the recent shots fired in her direction. Just this morning, she was thrown under the bus by an ESPN personality, who said she was “trying to kill hip-hop.”

Iggy’s boyfriend Nick Young took to Twitter to defend her, so it’s not as if she’s completely immune to the fray. But at least her mentions won’t appear like an angry mob with pitchforks and torches.

Banks, on the other hand, is often the one responsible for doling out disses and starting Twitter tirades, so now, things might be a lot quieter.

The biggest byproduct, of course, is that both of these talented women will be able to focus on what’s important: the music. Isn't that why we like them in the first place?

As a result, we can just feel that, ahem, we'll be getting brand new classics coming from them both.
