On the LP, due May 16, Spears, who recently turned 18, will cover the classic "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" by the Rolling Stones, rockers old enough to be her grandfathers.

[It] was my idea [to record the song]," Spears said on Monday. "I was just like, 'I like this song,' and I think it will be a really cool combination working with [hip-hop producer] Rodney [Jerkins] and doing a really funky song like that. We're going in to work on it after the Grammys, so I don't have a clue how it's going to sound.

Spears is recording with a variety of producers on the album, including Jerkins, who will handle "Satisfaction," and Max Martin and Robert John "Mutt" Lange (Aerosmith, Shania Twain), whom Spears called amazing.

The singer also has written her own song for the new record, the autobiographical "Dear

Diary.

It's a personal song that talks about a girl who is interested in this guy, and she comes home every night and writes about it," Spears said.

Spears said she hopes she will attract an older audience with her second album than she did with last year's "...Baby One More Time," which included the hit singles "Sometimes," "(You Drive Me) Crazy," "From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart," and the title track.

My material ... is a little bit more mature sounding," Spears said. "My voice has really matured more, and I think it will probably have a little more of a hip-hop flair.

A month after the album's release, Spears will launch a tour which opens June 15 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The 44-city tour will wrap on September 10 in West Palm Beach, Florida (See [article id="1434391"]"Britney Spears Announces Summer Tour"[/article]).

On Monday, Spears was in Los Angeles, rehearsing for her Wednesday night performance at the Grammy Awards.

She is up for several awards, including Best New Artist, in which she is competing against fellow teen pop sensation Christina Aguilera, among others. But she said that doesn't faze her.

I don't think about the competition. I'm just worried about me," Spears said. "Being up against Christina is no different than being up against Macy Gray. We just get compared a lot, because we're both the same age and our backgrounds are similar. Just being nominated is such an honor.
