A Visual History Of Leonardo DiCaprio's Best Night Ever

There's only one thing that can beat this (hint: it rhymes with schmoscar).

Leonardo DiCaprio might have definitely had the best night of his life (so far) at the 2016 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (Jan. 10). Because not only did he take home the win for Best Drama Actor in "The Revenant," but he also emerged as the unequivocal star of the show, one GIF-able moment after the next.

Seriously, the man could not stop stealing the scene even when he wasn't doing a thing but sitting there and looking mercifully scruffless and handsome.

First of all, he rolled up onto that carpet like a goddamn stud.

His hair, the attire, the confidence -- everything was directly on point with his look tonight. Well played.

He spent some red carpet time heaping praise on our girl Kate Winslet because we are #blessed and these "Titanic" stars still roll deep.

And he was getting/giving some mad team love, too.

Leo Kiss for Tobey

Leo might not be known for making love last, but when it comes to his bromances "long-term" is something of an understatement. He and Tobey Maguire, for instance, have been BFFs for about a quarter of a century (!!), and judging from this air smooch he gave his pal when he introduced "Revenant" as a drama nominee, the flames are still burning brightly as ever between these two. D'aww.

(Leo later returned the favor by thanking his friends, not by name but by the "you know who you are" nod. They're tight like that.)

Inside, he and Kate Winslet reiterated the point that they are still friendship goals incarnate.

Near, far, wherever they are ... GUSH. It didn't quite reach the heart string-tugging levels of Kate's 2009 GG speech for "Revolutionary Road," but it was still a feel-inducing reunion tonight alright.

He also got a cookie from Cookie herself, NBD.

Cookie for Leo

JK JK it's a *really* big deal. Some guys have all the luck. When Taraji P. Henson accepted her "Empire" win, she handed out tasty treats to the crowd, including Leo. And of course he was grinning ear to ear about the sweet gift because who wouldn't be? Consider us jealous (and also suddenly doing battle with a sweet tooth).

And then Lady Gaga gave him a hip shove just because.

TFW you just got shoved out of the way by The Countess herself and your spooked reaction face is so pricelessly authentic it becomes immediate internet gold. Leo experienced all of this at once.

He had this chance encounter with Jennifer Lawrence.

Leo solidified his coronation as the King of the World by getting this one-on-one time with the Golden Globes' threepeat queen herself, Jennifer Lawrence. Others might see this as an opportunity to 'ship them as a couple, but we've got a better idea: get Leo to join her and Amy Schumer for their next human pyramid in the south of France. We hear he likes to visit that place anyway.

And then the time finally came when his name was called FTW.

Leo Smile

Leo was probably super glad it was Julianne Moore who delivered his win because she absolutely did not choose to pull a Jamie Foxx/Steve Harvey fake-out. And she also didn't go full-on Jim Carrey with it and stall 'til the nominees were blue in the face. Instead, she spilled the good news as quickly as possible, and then he was congratulated by a standing O crowd of colleagues who were likely boozed up pretty well by that point and/or super happy to see him win.

He, for one, was too delighted to let this fist bump fail slide interrupt all the winning of that moment.

Fist Bump Fail Leo

He let that miss slide like a pro, but we've got five on the fact that he coaches the fella in time for the next one.

And guess who was there with the biggest bear hug of all time?

Yep, that would be Kate. ❤️‍

On stage, Leo got a chance to champion his cause, music shush cue be darned.

DiCaprio is nothing if not consistent when it comes to his love of Mother Earth and all her creations. And that environmental-slash-humanitarian side of him came through during his acceptance speech when he paid tribute to the First Nation members represented throughout the film by saying, "I want to share this award with all the first nations people represented in this film, and all the indigenous communities around the world. It is time that we recognize your history, and that we protect your indigenous lands form corporate interest and people that are out there to exploit them. It is time that we heard your voice and protected this planet for future generations."

Then came the even bigger win -- well, depending who you ask.

Alejandro González Iñárritu's lauded film took home the big prize of the night, Best Drama Picture, which means it's now a supercontender at the Oscars and Leo might finally win his overdue Academy Award. Let's just say his chances are about 200 million times better than any of us winning the Powerball next Wednesday.
