Iggy Azalea Reveals Britney Spears’ Album Is ‘Ready’ And Will Feature Their Collaboration

RIP Me!

With reporting by Simone Hilliard

So remember when Iggy Azlaea said that her collaboration with Britney Spears would be the first single off her next album?

Well, that might not be the case. Why? Because "Pretty Girls" will be featured on Britney's album. That's right, it's "ready." I repeat, Britney's album is READY!!

At least, according to Iggy. We caught up with the "Fancy" rapper on the red carpet of the iHeart Radio Awards, where she performed her single "Trouble" with Jennifer Hudson. Iggy explained how the song has been on quite a "journey" since she and Britney revealed their collaboration back in November.

"It was such a journey, that song. I got asked and it was her song, and then she didn't think she would have her album done in time, and then I rewrote parts of it and it became my song, and I tried to make it all mine and keep it. Then she said, 'No, no, I am going to take it, my album is ready,'" Iggy said. "And so I swung it back her way because she's Britney Spears, you have to do that. She gets whatever she wants."

Very true, Iggy. Godney gets what Godney wants.

It seems like all the back-and-forth turned out to be a good thing since the song, which drops May 5, has evolved into a "cool" "powerhouse" duet.

"It's kind of really evolved into something that I was just featured on originally, into really a true duet, where I'm on the chorus with her. We go back and forth, she has her verses I have my verse, but it's not just me kind of popping in it. It really is a duet," Iggy explained. "And I love that. I love a good pop duet where it's equally powerhouse. Cool."

And it seems like these two didn't just develop a song together. They also developed a friendship.

"She's super nice. She came to my house and had lunch and I didn't know what to expect, and we actually really got along," Iggy said. "I've been texting her, annoying her with all my ideas for the video and she's been a really good sport about it, so I'm really excited."

Guess Iggy wasn't kidding when she said there are "epic plans underway." Is it May 5 already?
