How Did Taylor Swift And Hayley Williams Become Friends? Tay's Mom

Mama Swift told Paramore they've 'got to meet her daughter' back in 2008.

GULF SHORES, Alabama -- Paramore took the oceanside stage at this year's Hangout Music Festival, where hundreds of festival-goers hit the beach to soak up the sun and hear their favorite tunes.

MTV News caught up with the band to chat about their whirlwind year before their big show on Friday, May 15. Their fourth album, self-titled Paramore, went gold and they scored their first Grammy -- Best Rock Song for their hit, "Ain't It Fun" -- this year. Not bad.

But that's not the only super-exciting thing happening in Paramore land. Lead singer Hayley Williams has a cameo in Taylor Swift's hotly anticipated "Bad Blood" music video, which drops Sunday, May 17 during the Billboard Music Awards.

Williams plays the role of "The Crimson Curse" in the vid. We're not really sure what kind of badass superhero powers -- this video has to include superhero powers in some way, right? -- go along with a name like "Crimson Curse," but we can't wait to find out.

But what we really want to know is, how exactly does one get into a Taylor music vid anyway? (And how can we get in on all the fun...) For Williams, it started all the way back in 2008, when she and Taylor first met -- thanks to Tay's mom, no less.

"We actually met at this Grammy party ... and [Taylor Swift's] mom came up to us [Paramore] and was like, 'It's so nice to meet you guys, you've got to meet my daughter,' ... I think we exchanged numbers, and we started hanging out in Nashville not too long after that," Williams said about her friendship with Taylor. Watch the full interview below:
