Go Behind The Scenes On The Set Of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2’

Megan Fox gets real with MTV News about what to expect from the 'TMNT' sequel.

With reporting by Josh Horowitz.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" was only just released last August, and already the team is hard at work on a sequel for 2016, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows.' And as evidenced by last week's killer trailer, this new movie, directed by Turtles superfan David Green, is sure to inject some much-needed fun back into the franchise.

Speaking with the stars on set during filming, MTV News learned that this new movie will definitely take itself a little less seriously than the last one -- and that it will be an origin story of sorts for the iconic "Turtles" character, vigilante Casey Jones.

"They figured out the tone of the movie should be funny. This isn't like Turtles in Gotham City," said Megan Fox. "That's the wrong way to take it. So I think they just have a much better handle on the tone of the movie and this one is actually going to be much better tkan the first one.

I kind of hope the people that saw the first one and were like, 'Meh, I don't know, take or or leave it' -- I hope they give this one a chance, because this ones' going to be, I think, way better," she added.

Meanwhile, Stephen Amell, who's playing Casey Jones, is excited to learn a few new tricks with a weapon other than a bow and arrow -- turns out hockey sticks are pretty versatile for action sequences.

"The cool thing about Casey Jones in this movie is he's very much an unfinished product," Amell admitted. "Matter of fact, it's more that he's beginning."

"Teenage Mutant Turtles 2" hits theaters June 3, 2016.
