News Flash: Bouncing Souls Hit Epitaph Summer Nationals

Looking to hang on to your Labor Day weekend adrenaline buzz? If you're in the Big Apple, the Epitaph Summer Nationals should keep your ears ringing long into the week. The three-day slate of concerts is scheduled for Sept. 2 - 4 at the Roxy Theater, and will feature nearly every act on Epitaph's roster. The New York Summer Nationals are the follow-up to a similar West Coast event organized by label founder and Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz in 1994. Tickets run just $5; a T-shirt will set you back $6. Featured on Tuesday will be: Bouncing Souls, Voodoo Glow Skulls, the Slackers, SNFU, Gas Huffer and the Dwarves. Wednesday offers: Pennywise, H20, Down By Law, Wayne Kramer, Ten Foot Pole, the Joykiller, the Humpers and Union 13. And Thursday serves up: NOFX, Hepcat, New Bomb Turks, Pulley, Red Aunts, U.S. Bombs and the Gadjits. If you're not going to be in "the city that never sleeps," you can still catch the Summer Nationals online via ATN's sister site, SonicNet, which will be cybercasting all three days' shows as part of its Supercast concert series. Head on over to the Supercast (http://super.sonicnet.com) site for all the details. -- ATN staff report [Sat., Aug. 30, 1997, 9 a.m. PST]
