While taking selfies in the Indian city of Mumbai, three teenage girls fell off some rocks and into the Arabian Sea on Saturday (Jan. 9). A man who jumped in to save them managed to rescue two of the girls, but drowned in the choppy waters while attempting to help the third -- an 18-year-old who is still missing.

As a result, Mumbai police have identified 16 areas throughout the city they believe are too dangerous for selfies and designated them "no selfie zones," according to a report from the AFP.

Mumbai deputy commissioner Dhananjay Kulkarni told the AFP, "After the unfortunate incident we have decided to identify 16 spots where taking selfies can be dangerous, but we may add more. We have written to the municipal corporation to put some warning signs up at such points. We also want them to deploy some lifeguards."

The AFP report also notes that "police officers patrolling the selected areas have been briefed to warn people against taking selfies."

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time selfies have been deadly. Last month, a man in Pakistan was killed by a high-speed train while attempting to take a selfie on the tracks; several people have died while attempting to take selfies with guns and taking selfies while driving has caused enough deaths to prompt car companies to create entire awareness-raising campaigns about it.

Maybe no selfie zones aren't such a bad idea?
