Puffy, Jay-Z, Others Set For Charity Basketball Game
Hip-hop bigwigs Sean "Puffy" Combs, Jay-Z, Russell Simmons, and Damon Dash are among the notables expected to turn up in New York this weekend for a charity basketball game.
That rap power nexus is expected to join the NBA's Reggie Miller, Elton Brand, and Vince Carter, MTV VJ Ananda Lewis, and a host of others in East Hampton, New York, on Sunday for a game that will benefit Boys Harbor and T.H.A.N.K.U. (The Hillcrest Avenue Neighborhood Kids Union).
Miller and Brand will act as coaches for the event, while Jay-Z and Andre Harrell will serve as the game's commentators.
Founded in 1937 as a summer camp for immigrant boys from New York City, Boys Harbor has grown into a community-based organization that works with 6,000 children and families from Harlem and East Harlem each year. The organization provides college preparatory programs, behavioral health services, and a camp in East Hampton.
