Lauryn Hill, Monica Top Lady Of Soul Nominees

Adhering to the mandate that every awards show must devote at least 25 percent of its airtime to Lauryn Hill, the singer once again led the pack when the nominees for this year's Soul Train Lady Of Soul Awards were announced on Wednesday.

When the awards are handed out on September 3 in Hollywood, Hill will be up for four honors including Best R&B/Soul Album Of The Year Solo for "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" and Best R&B/Soul Song Of The Year for "Ex-Factor."

Coming close on Hill's heels is Monica, who landed three nods going into the awards show.
