Veteran pop-rockers Cheap Trick have recorded a version of fellow power-pop band Big Star's 1972 song "In the Street" to be used as the theme song for the Fox sitcom "That '70s Show," according to Cheap Trick's official website (www.cheaptrick.com). It will replace an earlier take recorded by session musicians. The Cheap Trick interpretation will make its debut when the show's second season begins in September. The show follows the lives of six teenagers growing up in Wisconsin during the late 1970s and often makes references to the pop music of the era.
