Singer Gloria Estefan, pop-rock band Cafe Tacuba and jazz

trumpeter Arturo Sandoval were among the musicians on hand in

Miami on Thursday (June 24) to announce the first-ever Latin Grammy

Awards ceremony. The show is scheduled to take place in November 2000.

It will be produced by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences,

an extension of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, which

conducts the annual Grammy Awards.
