Cheap Trick To Celebrate CBGB Anniversary
Veteran pop-rockers Cheap Trick will play the storied New York
punk club CBGB on April 20 as part of a series of shows celebrating the
venue's 25th anniversary. The show, to be webcast live, also will
celebrate Cheap Trick's 25th anniversary as a band while promoting their
live album, Music for Hangovers, to be released that day only at
Amazon.com, and June 15 in stores. CBGB owner Hilly Kristal said in
March he hoped to get several major acts to play anniversary shows at
the club, and he said modern-rockers Live and Fuel had
agreed to play at some point during the year. Talking Heads, the
Ramones and Blondie are among the bands who got their
start at the club.
