Roni Size & Reprazent Ready Second Album

Live record, due in October, features guests Zach de la Rocha, Method Man and Rahzel.

Top Bristol, England, drum & bass producer Roni Size's group, Reprazent, are finishing their upcoming second album, which will feature guest appearances by Rage Against the Machine vocalist Zach de la Rocha, Method Man and Rahzel of the Roots.

The untitled album will be released in October, according to a spokesperson for Island Records, the group's U.S. label.

Roni Size & Reprazent, which includes Krust, Suv, Die and vocalist Onallee, released the drum & bass album New Forms, featuring the single "Brown Paper Bag" (RealAudio excerpt), in 1997. The LP's innovative mix of live instrumentation and electronic programming made it a landmark in the genre.

The new record also will feature live instruments, the spokesperson said, and the group is planning to tour in support of the release.

The band will head to Los Angeles in the next two weeks to shoot the video for the new album's first single, "Who Told You" (featuring vocals by Dynamite MC), with director Hype Williams.

Roni Size & Reprazent will perform Aug. 15 at Central Park SummerStage in New York. (The SummerStage series is sponsored in part by sonicnet.com.)

Size has emerged as perhaps the most prominent drum & bass producer for the visionary mix of rolling funky beats, hard, jazz-influenced live basslines and soulful vocals on his tracks.
