Adele Will Shave Her Legs Whenever She Damn Well Feels Like It

She also gets real about depression and touring in a wide-ranging new interview

Adele fans, go ahead and breathe a big sigh of relief. Not only does the famously private singer open up about touring in her new Vanity Fair cover story, but she also gets delightfully candid about having hairy legs. (What, like you never wanted to know about that?!)

At one point in the wide-ranging interview, Adele admits she recently shaved her legs for the first time in a month. Asked whether her boyfriend, Simon Konecki, minds her lax shaving habits, she fired off this ace response: “He has no choice. I’ll have no man telling me to shave my fuckin’ legs. Shave yours.” #Hero.

That amusingly relatable side of Adele is something that’s always endeared her to the masses, but she admits she has a “very dark side” as well. The 28-year-old revealed that she started suffering from depression when she was just 10 years old, following the death of her grandfather.

“I’m very available to depression. I can slip in and out of it quite easily,” she said, adding that she’s “too scared” to have another child after she battled postpartum depression following the birth of her son in 2012. “I didn’t talk to anyone about it. I was very reluctant. ... I felt very inadequate; I felt like I’d made the worst decision of my life.” Things started to change, however, when she opened up about her feelings. “One day I said to a friend, ‘I fuckin’ hate this,’ and she just burst into tears and said, ‘I fuckin’ hate this, too.’ And it was done. It lifted.”

Now her relationship with her son means everything to her, and she admits she feels guilty about being away from him on her massive world tour. In fact, the singer somewhat shockingly said she doesn’t even enjoy touring — she only does it to reciprocate the love she gets from her fans (aww).

“I’d still like to make records, but I’d be fine if I never heard [the applause] again,” she said. “I'm on tour simply to see everyone who’s been so supportive. I don’t care about money.”

As for all those mid-concert proposals, photobombs, and heartwarming fan duets? Those are just icing on her cake.
