By now it's no secret that Drake & Josh stars Drake Bell and Jerry Trainor are working on a new movie together. Cover Versions, also starring Debby Ryan, Austin Swift, and Katie Cassidy, is allegedly about a murder mystery at Coachella. The project is currently in production, and on Tuesday (September 27), Bell shared two Periscope videos from filming.
During most of the Periscopes, Bell is sprawled out on the ground, presumably asleep or passed out. Trainor then enters, nudges him with his foot, and says something off camera. Most of the people on set don't even realize he's filming the whole thing live, and the boom operator eventually asks what's happening.
Toward the 5:30 mark, Bell goes over to Trainor and they banter back and forth like it's 2006 again — except this time Trainor doesn't yell things like, “COCK-A-DOODLE-DOO, THE COW SAYS MOO.” Instead he speaks at a normal volume, as one does.
Details on the movie are pretty scarce right now — though I'm guessing their fictional band's name is Starfoxy — but it's fun going behind-the-scenes and trying to figure it all out. Check out the video above and get ready to shout, “Pip Pip Da Doodly Doo!”
