'Challenge' History Lesson: Here's How These Competitors Became 'Rivals'

For Bananas and Sarah, their clash is an iconic one.

A bunch of veterans are a part of the upcoming season of Rivals III -- but for these guy/gal Challenge pairs, this unique playing field has spawned the disagreements that put them with their partner (save for Battle of the Bloodlines alums...we'll get to them in a future story).

For Johnny Bananas and Sarah, their beef runs deep: The Real World: Brooklyn alum memorably threw her friend in to the final elimination during Battle of the Exes 2. And to say that the five-time champ is still reeling from the incident would be a massive understatement.

"The way I see it is, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all -- and that's kind of where I've been," Bananas dishes in the video above, while a somber and clearly uncomfortable Sarah listens by his side. Well, we get your message loud and clear...

On the opposite end of the spectrum, Wes and Nany don't have a specific incident that put them in this position -- however, they have never been on the same alliance throughout the series' history.

"We've never talked. We've always played two different games, and that's pretty much it," the Free Agents runner-up discloses in the clip. But the Rivals II victor (who can be seen smirking on the side) has a conflicting point of view on how things have transpired between the two -- and insists that he actually made an effort to be cordial.

Meanwhile, Leroy and Averey haven't interacted IRL or on the show -- but the Battle of the Exes 2 second place finisher took issue with the way the brunette beauty treated her ex/his friend Johnny Reilly.

"I probably already had a way I was feeling about her before I met her because of the fact that everything Johnny had told me previous[ly] about her and what was going on in their relationship," Le reveals. But even though he didn't get the best first impression, the Real World: Las Vegas cast member thinks they can adapt and "make it work" (here's hoping!).

Last, but not least, Simone and Thomas' initial disagreement started when she threw a bunch of drinks on the Ex-Plosion roommate during a house party on BOTE2, and these two clearly have some major points of contention with each other.

As evidenced in the clip above, she thinks he is "obnoxious and loud" when he drinks, while he thinks she "rubs people the wrong way."

Will these teams be able to move past their rivalries? Watch all of the videos to get a first taste and what lies ahead for these fierce competitors -- and be sure to catch the premiere of The Challenge: Rivals III on Wednesday, May 4 at 10/9c!
