'Shadowhunters' Cast Attempts (And Fails) To Describe The 'Mortal Instruments' Show In 3 Words

"Shadowhunters" in three words: Clace, Malec and Sizzy.

"Shadowhunters" doesn't premiere on Freeform (née ABC Family) until January 2016, but fans are already hyped for the TV adaptation of Cassandra Clare's "The Mortal Instruments."

The show follows a group of young (and gorgeous) angel-human hybrids known as Shadowhunters. They have one job: to kill demons. But things gets majorly complicated when they meet Clary Fray (Katherine McNamara), an 18-year-old whose entire life is about be turned upside down by a grave threat from the Shadow World. We've only seen six minutes of footage, and we can already tell that "Shadowhunters" is the sexy, mysterious new show we've been waiting for.

But don't take our word for it -- listen to the cast. Watch the charming stars of "Shadowhunters" try and describe the show in three words, and get a glimpse into the Shadow World, in the clip below, exclusively on MTV News.

Words like "fantastical," "exciting" and "action-packed" are all fine words to describe the show, guys, but here are our three: CLACE, MALEC, SIZZY. ("TMI" fans know what we're talking about.) But don't expect these beloved ships to set sail overnight; it's going to be a very slow burn.

When MTV News was on the Toronto set of "Shadowhunters" this summer, we asked the cast what changes fans of the book series can expect in the show. After all, taking the franchise from page to screen requires some creative liberties with the story.

"Character-wise, we've kept everyone fairly close," Dominic Sherwood (Jace) told us. "The story is very similar, but we’re changing how we get to places — so the journey is a little different."

"I think that’s so vital for something like this, to keep it fresh," he added, "otherwise everyone who’s read the end of the sixth book will know exactly what happens."
