Harley Quinn Steals The Show In New ‘Suicide Squad’ Pic

Move over, Mistah J.

The Joker got to show off his new look the other day. Now it's time for his partner to do the same.

Released today (October 28), Empire Magazine's "Suicide Squad"-packed December issue features Margot Robbie as everyone's favorite mentally-deranged clown villain (yes, even moreso than the creepy Clown Prince of Crime who created her, thanks), Harley Quinn. While we'll miss her iconic giant hammer, that baseball bat and studded gun are looking pre-tty sharp up close:

Yesterday's cover reveal (pun not intended) featured Cara Delevingne as the feral, very-unclothed Enchantress, and today also saw the release of a new image of Will Smith as Floyd "Deadshot" Lawton:

But while Harley Quinn is best known for being The Joker's amorous sidekick, don't expect her to be too glued to his side. As we learned in this Empire issue, in "Suicide Squad" she'll actually be trying to distance herself from his grip -- and a little bit towards Deadshot's instead, as we suspected when the pair were first shown together during filming.

"It’s about her breaking free of The Joker and becoming this fully actualised, independent person," director David Ayer said. "That really is a metaphor for everyone’s journey here."

"Harley is the biggest troublemaker, but Deadshot's actually eyeballing her a little bit. There's a pretty ragged romantic triangle there," Will Smith also noted.

Meanwhile, it's going to be hard for us to escape the Joker ourselves because he has not one but two covers all to himself, including this gem:

Shudder.

"Suicide Squad" hits theaters August 5, 2016.
