Pokémon Fans Rejoice! Red Blue And Yellow Are Making A Comeback

Let's battle.

Pika!

Pokémon lovers, rejoice! The red, blue and yellow trio of Pokémon Gameboy games are getting an upgrade to digital at long last.

Nintendo has announced that it'll re-release the classic versions of its Pokémon games for the 3DS virtual console system by way of Nintendo's eShop with wireless support built in, meaning wireless communication will now be an option for gameplay (so no more fussing with the Gameboy link cables, like before).

Other than the new wi-fi capability, though, the three-pronged series of games will be just the same as the originals, 4-bit backgrounds and all.

This includes Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue, which hit U.S. shelves back in '98 and the Pokémon Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition which partnered players up with their favorite sidekick Pikachu in '99.

The series will launch on Feb. 27, 2016. Break out your best Teeter Dance moves accordingly.
