Don't Tell 5SOS, But The Madden Brothers Have A New Fave Band

Texas-based trio Waterparks rules.

In between writing and working with bands like 5SOS and State Champs to announcing the Good Charlotte comeback we've all been waiting for, Benji and Joel Madden have taken some up-and-coming bands under their wing and into the studio. Most recently they've signed on as managers for Texas-based band Waterparks.

Waterparks has played on the Vans Warped Tour, opened for Aaron Carter, released a song with Fred Mascherino from Taking Back Sunday but has still remained relatively low-key and under the radar over the past few years...

Their label proposed they use the Madden brothers as producers for their next album, but it turned out that the Maddens wanted more than that. And on Friday, the band made an exciting announcement -- they have signed with Equal Vision Records and are now partnered with The Madden Bro's MDDN Co.

"So now they're our managers and that's the coolest thing ever," members Awsten Knight, Geoff Wigington and Otto Wood told MTV News. "We love them. They smell so good."

Waterparks' new, puppy-filled music video for "Crave" (a track produced by Benji) premiered Monday (Nov. 9) on Billboard.

"We straight up just played with puppies all day," the band said about the video shoot. "The label sent us a bunch of dog pictures and were like, 'pick your favorite' and we were freaking out. Also, we kept ruining our noses and gave the girl who was doing make-up way more work than she should've had, IF YOU SEE THIS - WE'RE SORRY."

The guys in Waterparks are currently freaking out about 1) opening for Good Charlotte at their comeback concert in L.A. on Nov. 19 -- NBD -- and 2) releasing new music early next year.

"If you like rock stuff, we have some of that. If you like keyboards and wiggling your hips to jams, we have some of that as well. If you feel angsty sometimes, I do too. We have something for you," the band explained.

"Things are about to get wild," the band says.
