Here's What Foo Fighters Fans Think About That Mysterious Countdown Clock

These fans are making something from nothing.

The Foo Fighters are counting down to November 23rd, but WHYYYYY?

The band posted a ~mysterious~ countdown clock on their website Thursday (Oct. 29) which ticks away the seconds, minutes, hours and days leading up to the as-yet-unknown event, and fans are already throwing their guesses into the proverbial hat.

Here's what they think this might be about:

"Sonic Highways 2."

Dave Grohl said that they were interested in doing a second season of the HBO music documentary miniseries "Sonic Highways," which debuted last fall with eight episodes chronicling the band's recording adventures in eight different cities, and, since the band has been on tour since December, there could be some new material to roll out for the show.

Another tour.

Foo Fighters will actually wrap up their world tour on Nov. 19th, just a few days before this clock runs up, with a send-off performance in Barcelona, Spain. But some fans think that more gigs are just an announcement away.

The Austin recordings.

While they were in Texas for the Austin City Limits Festival, the band revealed that they had an impromptu recording session and wound up laying down "five f--king new songs in your beautiful city," including one featuring Ben Kweller.

Super Bowl half-time show cameo.

@foofighters I hope it's your announcement for the halftime show at Super Bowl 50.

The rumor mill is grinding right away about who'll take the stage for Super Bowl 50's halftime show, but a lot of fans are hoping it'll be the Foo Fighters who rock the house at Levi's Stadium next February.

Solidarity for Ahmed.

This is our favorite theory of them all, actually.

What do YOU think/hope is going on with this 24-days-and-ticking business?
