Before Kanye West became the fashion icon he is today, Yeezy was out here wearing Hammer pants.

If you don't exactly know what those are, I can't blame you. But, here's a taste of the style MC Hammer made popular:

No I.D. (Ye's mentor and Def Jam's Vice President) revealed that fashion tidbit in an interview with Billboard where he also said one of Kanye's first not-so-very-good songs was named after a Dr. Seuss classic, "Green Eggs & Ham." That might sound like a joke, but I assure you it's not.

"The music wasn’t good and he was only 14 or 15," No I.D. said of the day he met 'Ye in those Hammer pants. "But [Kanye] took the advice I gave him and it multiplied with a new perspective. That’s why I’m betting on the new generation -- I can teach them everything I know and they can expand on it."

Yeezy clearly values No I.D. a ton. He even rapped about him on his 2007 song "Big Brother," where he called him his mentor.

Can you imagine Yeezy in Hammer pants? Who knows? Maybe it'll come back around and be part of Yeezy Season 6 or something. Or maybe, hopefully, not.
