Finally! Sam Smith Is Making 'New F--king Music'

Why are we so emotional?

It's been a vast, empty ocean -- which is not a good look -- for all the Little Sailors while Sam Smith's been silently recovering from his recent vocal cord surgery that took him out of concert commission this past spring.

But up ahead, at long last, land ho!

Because Sam Smith has just announced he's officially ready to get back to it -- and he's already got some new music in the works with none other than the band that first helped him become a thing early in his career.

Smith shared this photoshoppy "surprise" selfie with his dedicated crew on Twitter Friday (June 18), adding that there's "NEW F--KING MUSIC LITTLE SAILORS."

Sam Smith New Music Announcement

The image matches one which was also posted by the British electronic duo Disclosure and captioned, "That's right... Round two, here we go @samsmithsworld."

The first time Smith and Disclosure teamed up was nearly three years ago with "Latch" -- Smith's original breakthrough hit which launched him into U.K. (and eventually, global) significance.

Since then, Smith's sold "8 F--KING MILLION RECORDS" of his debut album In The Lonely Hour and wears a heavy crown as the King of the 2015 Grammys. But when his OG song partners offered for him to stay, it was all he needed.

And even though Sam Smith's been away for a spell to recuperate from his nervous-making operation, he's enchanted us all even when he was not around.
