Nick Jonas To The Rescue! He's Ready To Take Iggy Azalea's Place

My hero.

Nick Jonas to the rescue! The singer is replacing Iggy Azalea at Pittsburgh Pride in the Street on Saturday.

Azalea, who recently canceled her own tour, pulled out of the Pride performance after backlash on Monday to her past racist and homophobic tweets. Many organizations were going to boycott the event because of some choice words Azalea used in the past on social media.

However, that left the event without a headliner. According to the president of the Delta Foundation, Jonas called them up and asked to perform.

“He has been a supporter of the LGBT community, and he wanted to make sure that the community and Pittsburgh had a Pride event that they could be proud of," Gary Van Horn said in a statement.

Nick wanted to step up to the plate to support the community. Ironically, Jonas was supposed to open for Iggy before she canceled her Great Escape Tour.

“When I heard about the difficult position Pittsburgh Pride was in just days before their event, I knew I had to find a way to help,” he said. “I’m excited to do what I can to support the LGBT community in Pittsburgh, and I look forward to seeing you this Saturday as we celebrate together.”
