Drake Might Bring OVO Fest To New York -- Let The Crowd At Governors Ball Show You Why

'Know Yourself' had fans going up on a Friday.

NEW YORK, New York -- To say that Drake and the crowd at Governors Ball on Friday night, June 5, had a special relationship would be like saying he has just a couple hits: A huge understatement.

"Listen to me," Aubrey said to the tens of thousands watching him on Randall's Island as his set was coming to a close. "I mean it when I say this is the most fun I ever had at a festival in my life."

And maybe it's that feeling, and the non-stop energy reciprocated by the crowd, that inspired him to tease fans earlier in the night about something big: "I might have to bring OVO Fest here," he said, referencing his annual concert, which has taken place in Toronto since it began in 2010. "I might have to bring Kanye out that motherf--ker. I might have to bring Beyoncé out."

Imagine that for a second. Just think about it.

Done? OK. Yeah. We need that (sorry, I live in New York, so you know I need that).

That wasn't the only moment during the evening that somewhat pitted NYC against his native Toronto.

Just a few days ago, during a stop on the Jungle Tour in his hometown, Drizzy played "Know Yourself," off of If You're Reading This It's Too Late, and had the packed house going nuts. As he got ready to tee up the fan-favorite Friday night, he issued a challenge of sorts: "I've played this in a lot of places, even my hometown," he said. "But I just have this feeling that tonight could be the craziest reaction I've ever seen."

And, well, judge for yourself. But I was there, and watching a sea of people erupt like tidal waves all at once (and being a part of that sea) is one hell of a sight. This was my view.

Now, let's have a look from the stage, and Drizzy's account ("Maaaaaaaaan. NYC Knows Themselves," he wrote).

And now, from inside that sea.

Yeah, that's an official turn up.

How does it compare to Toronto's reaction, in the video below? Is it enough to convince Drake that he's right, and should bring OVO Fest to the Big Apple?

Regardless, one thing we know for sure is that Drake has love -- and then some more love -- for T. Dot. Clearly, he's got a place in his heart for NYC, too. And New Yorkers are ready to welcome him with arms raised wayyy up to the sky -- both because he's performing "Know Yourself" at Gov's Ball, and show that they're ready for OVO Fest to land in town.
