Here's Why Vin Diesel Belted Out 'See You Again' For Paul Walker

He wasn't nominated for any Golden Popcorn this year, but Vin Diesel won the 2015 Movie Awards with a touching tribute to his friend Pablo.

Donning a "Fast & Furious" T-shirt, the "Furious 7" star kicked off the big show in song. Vin sang "See You Again" -- the Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth track made famous in the tear-inducing closing scene of "Furious 7" -- for his good buddy, the late Paul Walker.

"The last time I was on this stage, I was with my brother Pablo," Vin said before breaking into song.

MTV News caught up with Diesel after his emotional performance on Sunday (April 12), and he revealed that his impromptu singalong was actually inspired by his son.

"It's for my 4-year-old," he explained. "He's been singing that song pretty intensely, and whenever Michelle [Rodriguez], or Nathalie [Emmanuel] or Tyrese are over at the house, he sings it for them and they start crying. So it was an homage to the little one at home."

So not only is Vin an incredible friend, he's also an amazing dad. The actor recently welcomed another little one to the family -- a daughter, named Pauline, after Paul Walker.

Meanwhile, "Furious 7" is racing toward a $1 billion global box office. "It's bittersweet, of course," Diesel said, "But the fact that the world embraced it and really allowed it to be Paul's legacy and shared that moment with us, it's just a beautiful thing."
