Vin Diesel's Baby's Name Is The Most Touching Tribute To Paul Walker

'I just knew he was there.'

The memory of Paul Walker lives on with the most powerful tribute yet from co-star Vin Diesel.

Diesel appeared on Monday morning's "Today" show to reveal that the name of his recently born third child with Paloma Jiminez was a tribute to Walker. "I named her Pauline," Diesel said of his daughter, whose birth was announced March 16.

Walker, who co-starred with Diesel in the "Fast and Furious" franchise, died in a single-car accident November 30, 2013.

Diesel said he felt Walker's presence at Pauline's birth.

"He was in the room," Diesel recalled. "There's no other person that I was thinking about as I was cutting this umbilical cord. I just ... knew he was there."

He decided to name the baby Pauline to keep Walker on his mind every day.

"It felt like, you know, a way to keep his memory a part of my family and a part of my world," he said.

"Furious 7," Walker's final film, opens on April 3. Diesel has appeared at early screenings of the film, and gave a heartfelt remembrance of Walker to fans at a Los Angeles showing.

"The relationships that you see on film are so real," Diesel told fans. "When the tragedy happened, I lost my best friend. I lost my brother."

"Furious 7" is dedicated to Walker's memory.
