Happy Birthday, Big Sean, Here's 12 Reasons Why We're Celebrating

We're bout to go way up for Sean's bday!

Quick, someone play some Marvin Gaye and bring out the chardonnay, because on Wednesday (Mar. 25) Big Sean will be celebrating his birthday.

At just 27-years-old the Detroit MC has accomplished so much, earning himself platinum and gold plaques and chart-topping singles, all while delivering unforgettable albums. Sean always seems to pick the right beat, spit the perfect rhyme and lay the perfect flow, but it's not just his music either. He has given us so many reasons to celebrate, from his fashion sense to the way he treats his lady.

That's why we have to wish Big Sean a blessed birthday and count down all the reasons why we f--k with him.

The Mixtapes

With early mixtape releases releases like 2007's Finally Famous: The Mixtape, UKNOWBIGSEAN, and Finally Famous Vol. 3: BIG, we knew Big Sean was going to pick up some steam. No wonder Kanye West recruited him for his G.O.O.D. Music team. On yeah, we can't forget 2012's Detroit either.

"Dance (A$$)"

Come on, we all know you remember "Dance (A$$)" featuring Nicki Minaj. You couldn't turn on the radio in 2011 without hearing this one and today it's still one of our favorites.

Sean's Fashion Sense

We can't mention Big Sean without speaking about his keen fashion sense. His unique tastes have scored him a number of cameos on E!'s "Fashion Police."

That "Mercy" Verse

"Mercy" dominated the charts in 2012 reaching no. 1 on both the Billboard's US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and US Hot Rap Songs charts. We like to think Sean's standout verse had more than a little something to do with that. Swerve!

That Time He Got Miley Cyrus To Star In His Video

I remember gathering around my laptop with friends to see Big Sean's "Fire" video back in 2013 and asking, "Is that Miley Cyrus?!" Yup, of course it was.

“I wanted somebody who was beautiful and I wanted to take her out of her element. People looking at her like she’s twerking and all this stuff, but she’s an awesome person, man," he said of Miley in an interview with MTV News.

Oh, Did We Mention How Much We Love His Style?

Soon after dropping his second album in 2013, Big Sean graced the cover of GQ Magazine, of course, it wouldn't be his last time featured in the mag. He appeared again in last month's February issue.

Because "Beware" Is Still Stuck In Our Heads

Teaming up with Jhene Aiko and Lil Wayne, Big Sean's song "Beware" was a gold hit, certified by the RIAA. That sweet melody and catchy hook still has us singing along.

I mean, doesn't Big Sean just seem so caring? His collaborations with Ariana Grande prove they have in-studio chemistry and their IRL PDA is just too cute. He's defended her reputation in the media and made sure she's mommy approved. They even have a secret handshake. What a man!

As if his first two albums weren't impressive enough, Big Sean released his third album, Dark Sky Paradise, this past February and once again proved he is a fierce lyricist. This is definitely his best LP-to-date, so we can only imagine where this Detroit native will go next.

"Marvin & Chardonnay"

Big Sean didn't disappoint with the second single release off of his first album, "Marvin & Chardonnay." His humorous lyrics and sing-a-long chorus make it hard for us not to head-bob to this beat.

His 2015 Woodies Performance

Okay, so we know that Big Sean can dress, rap and swoon the ladies, but he's also a great performer. Just check his set at the 2015 mtvU Woodies, as he closed out the show in Austin, Texas this past Friday.

Because We F--k With "IDFWU"

"I Don't F--k With You" became a lot of people's break-up anthem when it released last year. I mean, who hasn't wanted to throw the middle finger up at an ex at least once? It's really no surprise that this song rose to no. 1 on the Billboard US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and was certified Platinum.
