Jeremih Shares The 'Right Version' Of His New Track 'Planes' Featuring J. Cole

But where is 'Late Nights: The Album'?

Jeremih fans have one question: where is Jeremih’s album? Two years ago he released one of modern R&B's most influential mixtapes ever, Late Nights with Jeremih. Its follow up, Late Nights: The Album was supposed to have come out in October of last year. When it didn’t emerge fans began asking questions, which have yet to be fully resolved. The label has not given the album a release date, leading some to suspect that there may be tension between the artist and the label.

Yesterday morning, further evidence arrived to support that conclusion: Jeremih tweeted out a link to a new song called "Planes," featuring J. Cole.

"Yo here's the right version of Planes," he wrote. "Somebody leaked the wrong version this mornin I hope u all Enjoy #Latenights."

However the song he posted was immediately taken down, presumably by the label. Thankfully for us, Complex managed to track down a version of the song which you can stream, for now. It’s beautiful and spacious, with hardly any percussion intruding on the delicate duet Jeremih’s voice performs with the production’s rosy synth chords.

J. Cole stops by for a brief and ludicrously over-the-top verse that focuses on, well, size. He's reminiscent of a drunk roommate coming home late and interrupting your solo melancholy meditation session, but sometimes that’s not so bad.

There’s no word yet on when and where “Planes” will be officially released, but we’ll keep you updated.
