Barack And Michelle Obama's First Date Was So Adorable That It's Getting Its Own Movie

Tika Sumpter is co-producing and will play Michelle.

The First Lady had a pretty special first date with the man who would go on to become both her husband and the president of the United States -- and now, Michelle and Barack Obama's romance is about to get its own movie.

Entitled "Southside With You," the indie film will follow the young couple on their first date in Chicago's South Side.

According to President Obama, asking out Michelle was no easy task. She was his boss at the law firm where they both worked, and she kept refusing his offers to take her out on a date. Barack eventually said he'd quit his job if she'd go out with him, and she finally agreed.

Barack and Michelle went out for ice cream at the Baskin Robbins in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood, then went to see Spike Lee's "Do the Right Thing" at the Harper Theater down the street. The couple's home is now located in Hyde Park just a few blocks away from where they first kissed.
