Sky Ferreira Doesn't Need A Parent Or 'Guardian' On New Song

Listen to the teaser.

I'm, like, mad at all of you. Sky Ferreira teased a new song off of her Night Time, My Time follow-up, and nobody asked me if I was OK. Nobody. Not one single person.

My deeply embedded feelings of betrayal aside, the snippet hit Instagram Sunday. Like many of the songs off her debut album, the track, titled "Guardian," finds Sky meditating on her agency in interpersonal relationships. "I always thought I needed a guardian, and, now that I've got one, I wanna be free," she sings over a synth-driven instrumental.

Sky debuted the song live in concert on November 22, but this marks the first official "Guardian" audio (albeit in demo form) to make its way online.

Although the release date for the song is still TBD, Sky writes that it will drop "early next year" in the caption. She adds that it will come coupled with a "SICK video" by filmmaker Grant Singer, who has directed a bunch of her past videos, including "You're Not The One" and "Everything Is Embarrassing," as well that recent Sleigh Bells/Tink video for "That Did It."

We're still in a fight, just FYI.
