Need To Avoid Winter, Like Forever? Cobra Starship And Icona Pop Are Here To Help

It's called 'Never Been In Love,' and it feels like an endless summer.

Winter may be around the corner, but Cobra Starship and Icona Pop are making it feel like an endless summer in their sunny, shimmering new video, "Never Been In Love," a single that dropped at the end of August.

Jamming in a graffitied DIY venue! Messing around at the airport! Getting all "Grease" at a carnival! There's really no narrative to "Never Been In Love" -- except, it seems, Cobra frontman Gabe Saporta and the Icona Pop girls having the best day ever and partying in a very stylish manner.

The nature of the jam captures the euphoric feeling of finally falling in love, and the Ellen Von Unwerth-directed video feels par for the course: a manic whirl of retro-tinged color and smiles that conjure up those first dizzy days of really good dating.

“I had been listening to a lot of early ’90s U.K. artists — Jesus Jones, EMF, George Michael,” Saporta said of the Wallpaper.-produced track, which samples Fatboy Slim's "Praise You." “It was a time when bands first started incorporating break beats and electronic elements into their music. I had been trying to find a way to modernize that sound," he added.
