This Is Why Jeremy Renner Is In Every Single Action Movie

Okay, only three franchises, but they're big ones!

If you're an action movie junkie, but you don't care for Jeremy Renner, it's not a great time to be you. That's because Jeremy Renner is in all of the action movies.

All. Of. Them.

Okay, not all of them. But a lot! And the ones he's in are very, very big. We're talking "The Avengers" and its upcoming sequel "Avengers: Age of Ultron," as well as a possible Hawkeye reprise in "Captain America 3." We're talking the "Mission: Impossible" franchise, with a debut appearance in "Ghost Protocol" and a repeat performance in "Mission: Impossible 5." Then there's the "Bourne" franchise; even though Matt Damon is rumored for a Jason Bourne comeback, Renner has his own "Legacy" to uphold as super-spy Aaron Cross.

That's three major franchises with Renner's name and face all over them. Not an easy feat for any actor to handle, and certainly not an easy series of gigs for an actor to sign on for. How does one man get so many action franchises in such a short period of time? Well… funny story about that.

Sitting down with MTV News to discuss his new movie "Kill the Messenger," Renner explained why he's on all of the movie screens, running around in tights and blowing up bad guys — and why that's probably not going to change until he's well into his 50s.

"Kill the Messenger," starring Renner and based on the novel of the same name by Nick Shou, hits theaters on October 10.
