Karen O Released The Second Single Off Her Solo Debut: Stream 'Day Go By'

Unrequited love never sounded so good.

It's easy to crush on Karen O. Just before her debut solo record drops, the singer slipped us another forlorn, lo-fi lullabye, and "Day Go By" continues in the same vein as the rest of her new solo material.

Though her work as frontwoman of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs was electric and wild, it sounds like her solo output will be subdued and geared toward quieter, acoustic vibes and simple songwriting.

Fittingly titled Crush Songs, the record will come next week on September 9 through Julian Casablancas' Cult Records. This is the second single that has been released from the album, following up "Rapt," which came with a moody underwater video.

Her first solo album also comes on the heels of "The Moon Song," the singer's Oscar-nominated contribution to the "Her" soundtrack, and what we've heard of the record so far is much closer to that track's whispery aesthetic than her Yeah Yeah Yeahs output.

You can read the song's full lyrics below courtesy of Urban Outfitters, where it debuted today.
