After more than six years of marriage, Nick Cannon has confirmed that he and Mariah Carey are no longer living together.

In fact, they've been living in separate houses in New York City for "a few months," he confirmed to Yahoo! on Thursday (August 21).

“There is trouble in paradise," he said in a statement. "We have been living in separate houses for a few months.”

Despite rumors, Cannon shot down reports that there was any infidelity. He added that "my main focus is my kids."

The couple, who were married back in April of 2008 after a whirlwind six-week romance, have two children together, 3-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, whom they call "Dem Babies."

There are reports that a divorce is a "done deal," and while Cannon would not comment on that on Thursday, in a May interview with Parade, he said there's "no merit or truth" to the rumors, calling them "ridiculous."

Mariah's rep would not comment on her marriage, but told Yahoo! that the singer is "focusing on her children and her upcoming tour."

The two reportedly started living apart back in May, just a couple months after he surprised his wife during her "MTV First" on Valentine's Day and the two remembered their first Valentine's date.

“We’d gotten each other like all these roses and balloons, and we had pictures of our first year together … the whole room was just Valentine’s galore,” Mariah recalled to Sway. “As we’re looking at the pictures, there’s candles everywhere — because I had requested candles — so one of the pictures sparked and lit the drapery.”
