T.I. Versus Floyd Mayweather Was A Matter Of 'Respect'

R-E-S-P-E-C-T.

T.I. is reluctant to discuss his issues with undefeated boxing champ Floyd Mayweather, but the King of the South makes one thing very clear: he won't tolerate any disrespect.

"Respect man. Nobody, no time, nowhere gonna disrespect me, no exceptions. I don't care who it is," Tip told MTV News on Tuesday, the same day he premiered the video for his new single "No Mediocre."

"Whoever has a problem understanding that, they're going to experience the procedures that must be carried out," he continued.

The Trap Muzik MC didn't address Mayweather by name, nor did he get into the particulars of the incident, but it was reported that the two men exchanged words and possibly blows in May. Floyd said in an interview with NecoleBitchie that the rapper was unhappy after Tip's wife, Tiny, posted a picture onto her Instagram. In the pic Tiny posed with Mayweather and a number of other individuals.

Tip then confronted Floyd in a Las Vegas Fatburger and some sort of altercation ensued, but that's where details get sketchy.

Throughout his career, the rapper has juggled a duality. One on hand, he is an extremely successful artist, businessman, actor and reality TV star; on the other hand T.I. holds onto the morals that he learned in the street. It's a that concept he explored on his 2007 album T.I. Vs. T.I.P..

In April, video footage surfaced of T.I. defending a friend who was beat up by club bouncers during a night out in L.A. The rapper wasn't violent, but demanded answers as to why his pal was mistreated. "That's what men do, when they see things that they recognize as potential injustice and loved ones are involved. That's what men do, they stand up," he explained of that incident.
