Millennium Falcon First Look In 'Star Wars: Episode VII' Is Worth Getting Excited About

Chewie, my anticipation. Punch it.

For the second day in a row, TMZ has posted pictures from the set of "Star Wars: Episode VII" that were presumably taken by somebody who is no longer employed. The gossip site provided another look at everyone's favorite "Episode VII" character, Space Pig.

Oh, and an under-construction Millennium Falcon.

Check out the new photos!

Even more than the roundtable photo or the shots from Tatooine, this feels like the most concrete proof yet that -- yes -- there's going to be a new "Star Wars" movie that continues the story from the original trilogy.

And that's something worth getting excited about.

Even in light of cool news stories like Lupita Nyong'o joining the cast and practical creatures, there's been a hesitance to look forward to "Episode VII," and I really can't blame the skeptics. We're "Star Wars" fans. We've been here before, and we've been let down.

This is different, though, and I don't think that I'm falling for the old "Star Wars" trick when I say that.

Audiences haven't seen the Millennium Falcon (non-LEGO) fly since 1983. How could you not look forward to that? And it will be piloted by Han Solo and Chewbacca. Nothing could dissuade me from wanting to see that.

I'm not saying that because there's Space Pig and a scale model of the Millennium Falcon that "Episode VII" will be a great movie that rights the wrongs of "Star Wars" past. No one can say one way or another whether this will be a good movie at all, but the elements it's promising to bring to the screen -- like a talented, diverse, more gender-equal cast -- are exciting enough to make me look forward to December 18, 2015.
